Crews began work on the demolition of the old building at Medary Elementary School in Brookings on Wednesday. Students are slated to begin classes in the new building in the fall.
The old building at Hillcrest Elementary School is also slated for demolition soon, but the Brookings Police Department is using it for training through the end of the week.
