  • 12:48 a.m. Law enforcement arrested a male for an out of county warrant.
  • 2:16 a.m. Law enforcement arrested one male for simple assault.
  • 7:23 a.m. Officers took a lost property report.
  • 9:10 a.m. Officers witnessed a non-injury crash. A report was filed and a driver was cited.
  • 10:34 a.m. Officers took a report of a hit and run in a parking lot. A report was filed.
  • 1:57 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a theft report.
  • 3:04 p.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to a suspicious activity report.
  • 3:20 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took an identity theft report.
  • 3:42 p.m. Officers responded to a number of 911 calls. Upon arrival, an officer spoke with a female party.
  • 4:11 p.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Eighth Street South for a hit and run accident.
  • 4:21 p.m. Officers were called to the Medary Elementary playground for a juvenile incident.
  • 5:55 p.m. Officers took a theft report.
  • 10:04 p.m. Officers responded to a juvenile incident.

Friday, May 10

  • 1:50 a.m. Brookings Police took a report of a possible kidnapping. After investigation it was determined no crime was committed.
  • 8:36 a.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of shoplifting.
  • 9:56 a.m. Officers responded to the 500 block of Elm Avenue for a report of a two-vehicle, non-injury crash. A city accident report was completed.
  • 11:40 a.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of theft.
  • 4:30 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of an assault.
  • 6:26 p.m. Officers responded to an unattended death in the city of Brookings. The incident is still under investigation.
  • 6:32 p.m. Brookings Police responded to a family dispute.

Saturday, May 11

  • 12:18 a.m. Brookings police responded to a traffic complaint.
  • 10:35 p.m. A report was made of a juvenile who was trespassing at Walmart, after having been served a notice to not return to the property. The juvenile was located and turned over to their parents. Juvenile charges pending for criminal trespassing.

Sunday, May 12

  • 11:54 a.m. Officers responded to the 600 block of 22nd Avenue South for a report of suspicious activity.
  • 2:14 p.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to a report of an assault.
  • 4:03 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of fraud.
  • 7:59 p.m. Brookings Police responded to a medical call.
