Wiring stolen near White

BROOKINGS COUNTY The theft of grounding wires just southwest of White is being investigated by the Brookings County Sheriffs Office.

The incident is believed to have occurred between 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Monday, with the report being taken at 11:31 a.m., according to a Tuesday news release from the sheriffs office. It took place at a site on state Highway 30 near 476th Avenue, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring wrote.

The wiring was removed from electrical installation trucks, and is valued at an estimated $3,500. The wires were 50 feet long and were unspooled before being cut from the spool of the trucks, Sebring wrote.
