Boys State is a program to better help Americas youth understand and appreciate the American system of government and way of life including the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, and to give them a better knowledge of the fundamental principles of South Dakota State government.
The young men will make lifelong friends in their week at Boys State and learn about our form of government.
Boys State is in Aberdeen at Northern State University with the boys arriving on May 27 and leaving May 31.
The local American Legion Posts sponsor junior high school boys for this educational and fun experience.
District 6 American Legion Post Commander, Jim Pekron and Past State American Legion Commander, Doug Feltman presented the information to the group. Ron Fallon, Kimball; Rolly Quam, Shon Tawzer and Dale Royer, all of Arlington, assisted.
