SIOUX FALLS The Brookings Bobcats finished in ninth place as the 2024 ESD Tennis Tournament concluded on Tuesday morning.
Brookings finished with a team total of 12 points at the event. Harrisburg finished in first place with 335.5 points while Yankton finished second with 310.5 points. Brandon Valley finished third with 209.5 points, Mitchell finished fourth with 184 points and Watertown finished fifth with 172 points.
Zach Mueller was the lone Bobcat in singles competition on Tuesday, falling to Watertowns Skyler Stanton 8-4 in the third-place match of Flight 5.
Stefan Nicolic and Xavier St. Pierre picked up a win for the Bobcats in Flight 2 of the doubles bracket with a 10-7 win over Aberdeen Centrals Mika Dannen and Gannon Pederson. St. Pierre and Nicolic lost their two matches in the championship match due to forfeit against Harrisburgs Brayden Rausch and Cooper Rott and Yanktons Chris Rockne and Luke Moeller.
Braylon Peters and Carson Kreie dropped both matches in Flight 1 of the doubles bracket. Peters and Kreiei lost to Harrisburgs Alexander Rallis and Ragon 10-0 and to Jager Juracek and Jerke 8-1.
Zach Mueller and Andrew Hahn lost both matches in Flight 3 of the doubles bracket, losing to Cooper Star and Thompson of Mitchell 10-1 and Matthew Thin and Say Poe of Huron 8-0.
Rallis won the individual title in Flight 1 and Yanktons Harrison Krajewski won the conference title in Flight 2. Other individual champions included Rott in Flight 3, Moeller in Flight 4, Yanktons Miles Krajewski in Flight 5 and Mitchells Asher Dannenbring in Flight 6.
Rallis and Ragon won the doubles title in Flight 1, Rausch and Rott won the doubles title in Flight 2 and Miles Krajewski and Ethan Marsh won the doubles title in Flight 3.
The Bobcats will return to action when they travel for a dual at Sioux Falls Jefferson at 2 p.m. Friday.
