BROOKINGS Book lovers, rejoice.
The Friends of the Brookings Public Library Book Sale is back.
A longstanding annual tradition made possible by donations from the community and support from the local Friends of the Library chapter, the sale features affordable books and magazines, as well as games, CDs and DVDs. Most items are for sale for under $2.
All proceeds from this sale fund programming and new materials for the library.
This years sale runs concurrently with National Library week, which is April 7-13.
It begins Wednesday, April 10 with a sneak peek for Friends of the Library members from 5:30-7:30 pm. Memberships are sold at the librarys circulation desk and will be sold at the door.
The sale proper then runs all day Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
It then finishes with the traditional discount bag sale Sunday afternoon from 1-3 p.m.
Donations for the sale are accepted year-round at the library circulation desk.
