BROOKINGS Ninety figure skaters will compete in 114 events this weekend at the Prairie Polar Blast Competition at the Larson Ice Center.
The competition will take place on Saturday from 8 a.m. till 6:30 p.m. and Sunday the event will be held from 8 a.m. till 2:30 p.m.
Twenty-eight of the skaters are from the Brookings Figure Skating Club. There are four other figure skating clubs from around the region that will be competing. Those clubs include Sioux Falls Figure Skating Club, Yankton Area Ice Association, Blue Mound Figure Skating Inc. out of New Ulm, Minnesota, and Diamond Skating Circle out of Mankato, Minnesota.
Admission is free and all are welcome to attend. Pictured above are the skaters from Brookings.
