Deubrook, Elkton-Lake Benton split doubleheader

Boys

Deubrook Area 55, Elkton-Lake Benton 41

Deubrook took a 17-10 lead in the first quarter and extended it to 30-20 at halftime. The Elks cut the lead down to 42-36 at the end of the third quarter before the Dolphins won the fourth quarter 13-5.

Colton Trooien led Deubrook with a game-high 17 points while Landon Johnson had 11 points. J.P. Rogness and Jake Jorenby each had eight points and Gavin Landmark had seven points in the win.

Tanner Drietz led the Elks with 14 points while Colt Beck had eight points. Eliot Erickson and Carson Griffith had six points each.

The Dolphins improved to 10-9 and will wrap up the regular season by hosting Flandreau on Saturday night.

The Elks fell to 7-12 on the season and will travel to Dell Rapids St. Mary in their regular season finale on Saturday afternoon.

Girls

Elkton-Lake Benton 49, Deubrook Area 26

ELB took an 11-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 23-15 at halftime. ELB blew the game open with a 19-3 advantage to lead 42-18 at the end of the third quarter and Deubrook out-scored the Elks 8-7 in the fourth quarter.

Kylie Ramlo had 19 points, six rebounds, five steals and three assists in the win while Tevan Erickson had 11 points, three rebounds, six steals and six assists. Charlie Thooft had 11 points, four rebounds, two steals and two assists and Malayna Hemmen had five points, four rebounds and an assist.

Mataya Gouws had nine points for the Dolphins while Kyarra Blum and Kadence Bowne had five points each.

ELB finished the regular season with a record of 13-6 and will close the season against Arlington on Friday night.

Deubrook fell to 8-12 on the season and will have their first-round matchup in the Region 2B Tournament on Tuesday night.
