SIOUX FALLS Brookings forward Macy Even scored 31 points as the Bobcats defeated the Sioux Falls Lincoln Patriots 67-39 on Thursday night.
Evens big night was of historical significance as it was the most points scored in a game by a Brookings girls basketball player since Michaela Jewett scored 32 points in a game against Sioux Falls Roosevelt in 2018.
The Bobcats took a 15-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and led wire-to-wire the rest of the way. Brookings built its lead to 34-19 at halftime and 51-32 at the end of the third quarter before out-scoring the Patriots 15-7 in the fourth quarter.
Even added five rebounds and two assists to go with her 31 points while Logan Smidt put up 14 points, six rebounds, three steals and an assist.
Tess Burns had eight points, six rebounds and an assist while Alyssa Asleson had five points and two rebounds.
The Bobcats improved to 4-10 after their second straight win and will travel to Roosevelt for a 7 p.m. tip-off on Tuesday.
