Unique keynote speakers set for economic development conference in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS The 2024 Governors Conference on Economic Development will take place April 10-11 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.

The annual conference is a chance to recognize outstanding accomplishments in the economic development community.

Gov. Kristi Noem will award the Community of the Year and Excellence in Economic Development Awards.

A pair of dynamic speakers will keynote the event under the theme Freedom Works Here, along with a series of breakout sessions and time for networking.

Michael Faulkender, Deans Professor of Finance at the University of Maryland, will bring an understanding of both financial economics and public policy to this event. Faulkenders insight is sure to educate and inspire his listeners.

Not all states are experiencing the growth and prosperity happening in South Dakota. Nationally, the U.S. economy remains challenging, and I look forward to sharing policy prescriptions to improve our fiscal situation and unleash affordable American abundance, said Faulkender.

Devin Hendersen will encourage attendees to dream big and rethink the impossible using a combination of humor, magic, and heartfelt storying telling. Henderson will leave you on the edge of your chair, knowing that something greater is always possible.

I just want people to believe they can achieve so much more than they ever imagined was possible,” said Hendersen.

Registration is now open with early bird rates throughFeb. 29. You can register at https://sdgoed.com/partners/2024-conference/.
