Elizabeth Larson recently took the oath of membership to join the Medary Chapter of the South Dakota State Society of Daughters of the American Revolution. Elizabeth is the daughter of current Chapter Regent Lori Smidt Larson and the granddaughter of Honorary Past Chapter Regent Charlotte Smidt.
DAR is a nonpolitical, nonprofit, womans service organization whose members are lineal descendants of a patriot who fought in the Revolutionary War. The organizations mission is to promote patriotism, historic preservation and education.
DAR members say they are proud to have three generations of the same family serving as active members in the Medary Chapter together at the same time.
