OMAHA All 10 Jackrabbit players scored on Thursday night as the South Dakota State women blew out Omaha 92-55 at Baxter Arena.
It was SDSUs sixth-straight win and there was never a doubt. The Jacks jumped out to a 17-9 lead in the first quarter and led 26-11 at the end of the first. SDSU pushed the lead to 43-20 at the midway point of the second and then led 52-24 at halftime.
The Jacks led 69-35 with two minutes left in the third and they took a 70-37 lead into the fourth. The largest lead of the night came with 2:40 left in the game as walk-on Isabel Aesoph, who joined the team in November, hit a three. That gave SDSU a 40-point lead and earlier in the quarter the other player who joined the team during the season also got on the scoreboard as Tori Tollefson had an and-one.
SDSU shot 55.2% from the field and was 12-of-25 from three. The Jacks were 16-of-22 at the free throw line.
Paige Meyer led SDSU with 18 points. Madison Mathiowetz had 16 points and Madysen Vlastuin had 12 points and five rebounds. Brooklyn Meyer and Jenna Hopp each had 11 points. Mesa Byom had eight points and Tori Nelson had seven points.
Omaha shot 37.5% from the field and was 6-of-22 from three. SDSU had 41 rebounds and Omaha had 21. Each team had 13 turnovers.
SDSU improved to 12-5 overall and 4-0 in Summit League play. The Jacks will return home Saturday and take on in-state rival South Dakota at 6 p.m. The Coyotes won on a buzzer beater against St. Thomas on Thursday night. You can watch the game on Midco Sports or the Summit League Network.
