Minor injuries reported after two-vehicle crash in Brookings

BROOKINGS A pregnant woman was taken to Brookings Health System for evaluation following a two-vehicle collision onon Jan. 12 in Brookings.

The incident was reported at approximately 4:59 p.m. in the 800 block of 22nd Avenue South, according to a Tuesday news release from the Brookings Police Department. No names or places of residence were available for the people involved in the minor injury accident.

BPD Lt. Joe Fishbaugher wrote that a 2007 black Volvo was exiting the Hy-Vee parking lot and attempting to head northbound on 22nd Avenue South.

The Volvo was struck by a 2016 Volkswagen that was heading southbound on 22nd Avenue South.

The passenger in the Volkswagen, a pregnant woman, was taken by private vehicle to Brookings Health, Fishbaugher added.
