The Flandreau Fliers improved to 7-0 as they were part of three area games in girls basketball action on Tuesday night.
Flandreau 67, Deuel 14
FLANDREAU The Fliers put forth another dominated effort as they defeated the Cardinals on Tuesday night.
The Fliers led 23-8 at the end of the first quarter and took a 41-11 lead into halftime. Flandreau led 56-14 at the end of the third quarter and had an 11-0 advantage to close the game in the fourth quarter.
Lizzy Pavlis led Flandreau with a team-high 17 points and 10 rebounds to go with five assists. Lily Klein added 15 points and four steals for the Fliers. Sadie Iott had 12 points and Claire Sheppard had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Camdyn Peterreins and Graclyn Nielsen each had three points for the Cardinals.
The Fliers are now 7-0 on the season.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 44, Iroquois/Lake Preston 40
HURON The Sharks fell to SCW in a girls 281 Conference Basketball Tournament semifinal on Tuesday night.
Adison Moore led the Sharks with 20 points and four assists while Faith Steffensen had nine points and four steals. Hadlee Holt had nine points and 15 rebounds in the loss.
Liz Boschee led the Blackhawks with 20 points and 10 rebounds while Kenna Ochsner had seven points. Kam Ochsner and Jaycee Baruth each had six points while Baruth grabbed eight rebounds as well.
Oschner led SCW with four steals and Baruth had two assists.
ILP shot 27 percent in the game including 1-of-10 (10%) on 3-pointers. SCW shot 34 percent from the floor including 2-for-10 (20%) on 3-pointers. The Blackhawks outrebounded the Sharks 33-32 and committed 13 turnovers to ILPs 15.
The Sharks fell to 7-4 on the season and will return to action when they play in a placing game in the tournament on Jan. 18.
Tri-Valley 60, Deubrook Area 50
WHITE Tri-Valley used a big fourth quarter to pull away from the Dolphins on Tuesday night.
Deubrook Area led 16-14 at the end of the first quarter and took a 29-24 lead into halftime but Tri-Valley jumped in front with a 42-40 lead at the end of the third quarter and out-scored the Dolphins 18-10 to secure the win.
Mataya Gouws led Deubrook with 20 points while Kadence Bowne had eight points. Matte Bauman and Kylee Johnson had five points each for the Dolphins.
Lauren Grinde had a game-high 24 points for the Mustangs while Hailey Sorenson had 13 points. Madelyn Wenzel also had five points in the win.
Deubrook fell to 4-8 with the loss and will host Hill City on Jan. 19.
