High school gymnastics: Brookings Bobcats finish fourth at Patty Jorgenson Invite

BROOKINGS The Brookings Bobcats finished in fourth place among a 13-team field at the Patty Jorgenson Invitational at Bob Jostad Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

The Bobcats finished with a team total of 135.65 points, finishing behind first-place Harrisburg (146.975), second-place Mitchell (143.675) and third-place Watertown (139.100).

Delilah Fuls was the top all-around finisher for the Bobcats, finishing in sixth place with a score of 35.625. Harrisburgs Katelyn Maeschen finished in first place with a score of 37.675, Michells Olivia Prunty finished in second place with a score of 36.00 and Harrisburgs Brinly Sanderson finished in third place with a score of 36.175.

Fuls finished in sixth place in the floor exercise for Brookings with a total score of 9.4500. Amber Brockberg had a score of 9.225, Lexi Norgaard had a score of 9.2000, Ava Petterson had a score of 8.5500 and Nevaeh Strohfus had a score of 8.300.

Maeschen and Prunty had the top score in the floor exercise at 9.7650 while Mitchells Aubrey Gelderman had a score of 9.5000.

Fuls had the top score for Brookings in the beam with a score of 8.5750. Petterson finished with a score of 8.0250, Brockberg had a score of 7.6250, Layla Erickson had a score of 7.5250 and Mischa Janssen had a score of 7.2500.

Harrisburgs Meredith Hurby finished with the high score in the beam at 9.2750, Sanderson finished second with a score of 9.2250 and Harrisburgs Lilly Gusso finished with a score of 9.2000.

Fuls finished seventh for Brookings in the bars with a score of 8.4250. Erickson finished with a score of 8.3250, Kennedy Ronning finished with a score of 8.1750, Petterson had a score of 7.6500, and Janssen had a score of 7.5000.

Maeschen had the top score in the bars at 9.400 while Mitchells Bentley Bates had a score of 9.2000 and Harrisburgs Ailee Johnson had a score of 9.1000.

Fuls finished fourth in the vault with a score of 9.1750. Erickson finished with a score of 9.0500, Brockberg finished with a score of 8.3500, Ronning finished with a score of 8.3250 and Norgaard finished with a score of 8.3000.

Maeschen finished with the top score in the vault at 9.5500, Mitchells Keyana Kelley was second with a score of 9.4000 and Prunty finished third with a score of 9.3000.

The Bobcats will return to action on Tuesday night when they host Harrisburg and Yankton in a triangular at Bob Jostad Gymnasium.
