The Arlington Cardinals picked up a win over Madison and the Iroquois/Lake Preston Sharks defeated Hitchcock/Tulare in some of the areas girls basketball action on Tuesday night.
Arlington 60, Madison 36
MADISON The Cardinals jumped out to a 14-11 lead at the end of the first quarter and expanded it to 31-21 at halftime. Arlington led 50-32 at the end of the third quarter and out-scored the Bulldogs 10-4 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Addalyn Steffensen scored a game-high 20 points to go with seven rebounds, an assist and a steal for the Cardinals while Jaelyn Huntimer scored 12 points, pulled down seven rebounds and had two steals and an assist.
Jolyssa Steffensen had 11 points with four rebounds, seven steals and an assist for Arlington while Isabelle Steffensen had nine points and a steal and Harley Johnson had seven points, seven rebounds and four steals.
Audrey Nelson led Madison with 13 points, seven rebounds, three assists, three blocks and three steals.
Arlington shot 35 percent from the floor including 5-for-23 (21.7%) on 3-pointers. Madison shot 35 percent from the floor including 2-for-13 (15.4%) on 3-point attempts. Arlington had a 34-24 advantage in rebounds and Madison committed 24 turnovers compared to Arlingtons 12.
Arlington improved to 6-1 on the season and will travel to De Smet on Thursday night.
Iroquois/Lake Preston 48, Hitchcock/Tulare 36
LAKE PRESTON The Patriots jumped ahead 7-5 at the end of the first quarter but the Sharks took a 19-16 lead into halftime. ILP led 33-28 at the end of the third quarter before finishing off the game for the 48-36 victory.
Adison Moore led ILP with 14 points and three steals which Becca Bich had 11 points and Hadlee Holt had 11 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks. Faith Steffensen also had nine rebounds and two assists for the Sharsk.
Katelyn Schroder led H-T with 13 points.
ILP shot 28 percent from the floor including 6-for-21 (28.6%) on 3-point attempts.
The Sharks improved to 5-3 with the win and will travel to Deubrook Area on Thursday night.
