High school boys basketball: Brookings Bobcats fall on the road at OGorman

SIOUX FALLS The Brookings Bobcats fell on the road as they lost to OGorman 71-61 on Tuesday night.

The Knights took a 14-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and jumped ahead 39-16 at halftime. The Bobcats battled back to close the gap to 55-38 at the end of the third quarter and had a 23-16 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Austin Clark led the Bobcats with 31 points while Owen Burns had 11 points. Same Johnson had seven points for Brookings while Brodie McCarty had five points, Keech Bior had four points, Nathan Smith had two points and Griffen Bartels had one point.

Nyun Dut had 22 points for the Knights while Austin Terveen had 19 points and Hayden Groos had 10 points.

The Bobcats shot 50 percent from the floor including 5-for-17 (29%) on 3-pointers. OGorman shot 49 percent from the floor and 2-for-13 (15%) on 3-pointers. Both teams had 11 turnovers and the Knights outrebounded the Bobcats 30-23.

Brookings fell to 1-5 with the loss and will travel to Brandon Valley on Friday night.
