The Make A Difference project supported by the George Dokken VFW No. 2118 Auxiliary is a yearly event.
The free will donations received during the Hobo Day parade each year help fund the project. The Brookings public elementary schools as well as theparochial schools in Brookings each receive a portion of the funds.
In order to give a more generous amount, the auxiliary supplements the funds withmoney from auxiliary events or donations.
The schools receiving funding from the Make A Difference Project this year are: Camelot Intermediate; Dakota Prairie; Medary Elementary and Hillcrest Elementary. Also receiving a check will be Early Childhood Development; St. Thomas Moore Catholic School; Our Saviors Lutheran School and Peace Lutheran School.
