A second-half comeback by Estelline-Hendricks to defeat Iroquois-Lake Preston highlighted the areas boys basketball action on Tuesday night.
Madison also picked up a win over Deubrook Area, Castlewood defeated Flandreau and Baltic topped Elkton-Lake Benton.
Estelline-Hendricks 67, Iroquois-Lake Preston 62
LAKE PRESTON The Redhawks mounted a second-half comeback to defeat the Sharks on Tuesday night.
ILP led 19-10 at the end of the first quarter and took a 33-27 lead into halftime, but Estelline-Hendricks chipped into the lead to trail 45-44 at the end of the third quarter and out-scored the Sharks 23-17 in the fourth quarter to earn the win.
Mattix Hausman and Wyat James each had 15 points for the RedHawks while Caden Ching had 12 points
Lucas Peskey had 22 points and four steals for the Sharks while Josh McMasters had 21 points and five rebounds. Daunte Glanzer had nine points and Rexton Blue had six rebounds for ILP.
The Redhawks are now 3-1 on the season and will return to action against Deuel on Dec. 30 at the Michael J. Entringer Scholarship Classic in Brookings.
Madison 73, Deubrook Area 41
MADISON The Bulldogs used a strong first half to defeat the Dolphins on Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs led 11-8 at the end of the first quarter before out-scoring the Dolphins 20-7 in the second quarter to take a 31-15 lead into halftime. Madison had a 49-28 lead at the end of the third quarter and out-scored Deubrook 24-13 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Jacob Jorenby had a game-high 22 points to go with five rebounds and four steals for Deubrook. Gavin Landmark had four points, two steals and a rebound while J.P. Rogness had three points, two rebounds and an assist.
Deubrook shot 39 percent from the field and 5-for-14 (35.7%) on 3-pointers. The Dolphins also shot 4-for-15 (26.7%) from the free throw line and committed 15 turnovers while they were outrebounded 24-20.
Deubrook fell to 1-3 on the season and will travel to Chester on Friday night.
Castlewood 62, Flandreau 57
FLANDREAU The Fliers fell to the Warriors in Flandreau on Tuesday night.
Alfie Henderson led the Fliers with 18 points while Paul Parsley had 14 points, six rebounds and four assists. Luke Sheppard also had 10 points, eight rebounds and five assists for Flandreau.
Jamison Keszler scored 19 points for the Warriors while Byron Laue had 16 points and Larz Tvedt had 13 points.
The Fliers are now 2-2 on the season and will return to action against Colman-Egan during the Michael J. Entringer Scholarship Classic in Brookings on Dec. 30.
Baltic 54, Elkton-Lake Benton 34
ELKTON The Bulldogs led early and never looked back to defeat the Elks on Tuesday night.
Baltic led 18-9 at the end of the first quarter and took a 31-18 lead into halftime before running up the lead to 44-21 at the end of the third quarter. ELB out-scored the Bulldogs 13-10 in the fourth quarter.
Carson Griffith led the Elks with 10 points and four rebounds while Colt Beck had eight points one rebound and one assist. Tanner Drietz had seven points and three rebounds.
Jack Erickson had 22 points for the Bulldogs while Mark Ditter and Ben Erickson had nine points each.
The Elks fell to 1-2 with the loss and will return to action when they face Waverly-South Shore at the Michael J. Entringer Scholarship Classic in Brookings on Dec. 30.
