Marlin Telkamp, formerly of Watertown and Brookings, SD passed away Dec. 7, 2023, in hospice care after an extended stay at the Firesteel Nursing Home in Mitchell, SD. Marlin was married to Geri (Geraldine Fischbach) Telkamp also residing at Firesteel.
Marlin was born on Sept. 15, 1937, in Brookings, SD and raised on a farm owned by his parents near Brookings.
He attended public school in Brookings, then served in the Air Force, stationed in Texas.
After his tour of duty, he worked for Sexauers in Brookings, but for many years he was employed in the Trucking Industry,where he traveled the country until he retired.
Marlin was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Harriett Telkamp, his sisters: Verola Synder, Berdeena Chase, Glennice Shay, brother Merlin Telkamp, and son Jeffrey Telkamp.
He is survived by his wife Geri Telkamp, Marlins daughters Lori Kellar and Lisa Dillon, several grandkids and great-grandkids, nephews, and nieces.
Arrangements are being handled by Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. A burial service is planned for a future date at the Veterans National Cemetery in Sioux Falls. All memorials will be sent to a Homeless Veterans program.
