WATERTOWN The Brookings Bobcats rallied from a first-quarter deficit but couldnt complete a comeback as the Watertown Arrows used a big fourth quarter to come away with a 58-47 victory at the Watertown Civic Arena on Friday night.
The Arrows jumped in front early with a 19-9 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Bobcats outscored Watertown 15-7 in the second quarter to trail 26-24 at halftime. Brookings remained close by winning the third quarter 13-12 and went into the fourth quarter down 38-37 but the Arrows won the fourth quarter 20-10 to secure the victory.
Austin Clark led the Bobcats with a team-high 14 points to go with two rebounds and three assists and Owen Burns had nine points and five rebounds in the loss. Griffen Bartels and Keech Bior had seven points each in the loss and Sam Johnson put up six points off the bench.
Brookings shot 43 percent as a team and turned the ball over eight times.
Dylon Rawdon led Watertown with 13 points to go with four rebounds and two assists while Jake Olson and Will Engtrom both scored in double figures with 10 points each. Caden Beauchamp and Brody Torgerson also added nine points each for the Arrows, who shot 48 percent on the night, committed six turnovers and outrebounded the Bobcats 19-17.
The Bobcats will return to Brookings for their first home game of the season when they host Huron at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
