He does an outstanding job coaching up the young kids as well. Hes a three-year starter at linebacker and started two years at wide receiver and one at running back. Three times in his career he had 30-plus carries in a game and multiple times over 20 carries. He is a threat to score any time he touches the ball. Any coach would love to have Gavin on his team.

J.P. is a very strong, fast, and explosive player, Lamb said. He probably doesnt get the ball as much as he should. He is also a threat to score any time he touches the ball. J.P. fits into our kick return scheme and is a dangerous punt returner. J.P. is incredibly strong for his size making him a great all-around player.

Dylan Rios Senior OL/DL Deubrook Area

Rios was the anchor of the offensive and defensive line for the Dolphins. He was a Class 9A All-State selection for his work on offense and was an All-DVC selection in 2023 as well. Defensively, he had 79 tackles, nine tackles for a loss and one sack.

A very coachable player, Dylans technique on both sides of the ball has improved to an All-State Level, Lamb said. We dont always just run to his side of the ball because he is a great puller and sometimes we like him out in front on the second level. Defensively, Dylan is usually either being cut or double teamed and gets down the line extremely well. In our semi-final game two of Dylans nine tackles were on pass plays. Also voted as a captain, Dylan is a great leader for our younger players. Dylan is a special person that people are drawn to. He is very deserving of All-State.

He had 32 catches for 491 yards and three touchdowns in 2023. On defense he had 36.5 tackles, eight sacks, 11.5 tackles for a loss, a forced fumble and a blocked kick.

Carson was our go-to receiver in big situations or when we needed yards, said Elkton-Lake Benton head coach Ethan Pearson. Our young quarterback developed a great relationship with Carson, and trusted throwing the ball to him the most. He knew when we needed some yards, he could find Carson. He was not only great in the passing game, but he was also a big part of our running attack as we ran behind him quite a bit this year, especially in short yardage situations.Carson was our defensive end and had a very solid season and career for us. He was very coachable and did what we had asked of him. He was the guy we hoped would get pressure in passing situations. He played a huge factor in the run game as well and made a lot of plays at or behind the line of scrimmage for us.

Blake De Vries Junior RB/LB Elkton-Lake Benton

De Vries was a force on both sides of the football in 2023. He was an All-State selection at linebacker after having 79.5 tackles, 15.5 tackles for a loss, two sacks and one fumble recovery. On offense he had 594 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns on 71 carries. He was an All-DVC selection in 2023.

He has a good nose for where the football is and fills downhill hard. He was a captain for our team which is voted on by the players. He has a great work ethic and is a great leader on and off the field and in the classroom.

Colt Beck Sophomore QB/DB Elkton-Lake Benton

Beck is the youngest player on the All-Register team this year and is the only sophomore. In his first year starting at quarterback he completed 64% of his passes and threw for 1,140 yards and seven touchdowns and had just two interceptions. He also ran for 855 yards and 16 touchdowns.

On defense he had 30.5 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one blocked kick. He was an All-DVC selection as well this season.

Colt stepped in the quarterback role for us this year after we lost a three-year starter, Pearson said. As a sophomore he was very composed in the pocket and made a lot of great throws. He is an elusive quarterback and we use him in the run game quite a bit as well. He is a smart player and understands the game of football. We gave him some freedom and let him make some different calls at the line of scrimmage based on what he saw from the defense as well.

Boden Schiller Senior QB/LB Sioux Valley

Schiller was a two-way player once again for the Cossacks and settled into his role at quarterback this season. He was an All-State selection after throwing for 567 yards and eight touchdowns. He ran for 955 yards and 17 touchdowns and averaged 10.4 yards per carry.

On defense he led Sioux Valley in tackles with 59. He also blocked an extra point.

A two-way starter, Boden has been an indispensable part of the Cossacks success this year, said Sioux Valley head coach Dan Hughes. On and off the field, Boden has displayed the type of leadership that every coach craves when assembling a team. Bodens ability to touch every level of our program in a unique way alone is deserving of recognition. When you couple it with his football ability, it only cements our feelings on Boden Schiller. Boden is an integral part of our offensive and defensive gameplans every week. From getting us organized and into every play, to game changing moments, to keeping us level headed when things arent going our way, his quiet strength and stoic poise make him special.

Donovan Rose Junior RB/DB Sioux Valley

Rose was an All-State selection at the running back position. He ran for 834 yards and 15 touchdowns on 87 carries. He had 13 tackles on defense. He returned 11 kicks for 200 yards.

Donovan Rose changes the game with his elite speed, and incredible quickness, and as a junior he very well may be the best skill player in Class 11B, Hughes said. Donovan burst on the scene last year as a sophomore and immediately turned heads with his ability to change the game every time he touched the ball. His impact on both our offense and team cannot be measured. Opponents game plan solely around him and his abilities, making Donvan earn every yard he gets (10.2 yards per carry). Donovans off field character has greatly impacted this team for the better. He rarely misses a weightroom opportunity and the way he practices and the energy he brings bleeds into every member of our program. Every Friday night he is asked to lock down and eliminate the opponents top weapon and force them to give the ball to someone else.

Mattix Hausman Senior QB/DB Estelline/Hendricks

Hausman made his mark on the game on both sides of the football in 2023. He was an All-State selection as a defensive back. He had 17 tackles and six interceptions on defense in only five games on the defensive side of the ball due to an injury.

He led the Redhawks offense, throwing for 486 yards and seven touchdowns. He also had 736 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. He was also an All-DVC selection in 2023.

Mattix has been our starting QB and leader the last three years, said Estelline/Hendricks head coach Tim Cass. He is a dual threat QB who is lightning quick in the run game and equally as dangerous throwing the ball. Our read option game with him and Caden Ching was very challenging for opposing teams to defend during the first half of the season. Hes a very intelligent football player and one of the hardest workers on the team.
