BROOKINGS – San Diego teacher and New York Times best-selling author Dave Burgess will be the keynote speaker at the upcoming REMAST (Rural Enhancement of Math and Science Teachers) conference June 18-19 at the McCrory Gardens Education and Visitor Center.
Burgess, author of “Teach Like a Pirate,” will present at 7 p.m. June 18. His talk is open to the public. His book encourages teachers to “captivate your class, create outrageously engaging lessons and rediscover your passion for teaching.” In 2013, his self-published, 192-page paperback hit the New York Times Education Best Seller List and has been translated into three languages.
