BHS takes slower approach on 1:1 Computer Initiative

BROOKINGS Brookings High School is going to take a studied, deliberate approach to providing computers to every one of its student.

Monday night, Brookings High School Principal Paul von Fischer presented a timeline to school board members that pushed back the implementation of the 1:1 Computer Initiative to the fall of the 2015-2016 school year. The program, designed to provide a computer to each high school student, was originally proposed to be implemented in the 2014-2015 school year.

After the meeting, von Fischer said that some school staff members had expressed their concern that offering the computers to students in the next school year was too hasty.
