• Locally produced classes could save district money
BROOKINGS – Online classes are growing more popular at Brookings High School, and the next step for the district is having Brookings teachers create the online courses that students take.
Shelly Jensen, assistant principal at BHS, told the school board at its Monday night meeting that staff members are extremely interested in offering online classes.
She explained that currently, the only online courses available at BHS are offered through S.D. Virtual School. While she said she is pleased with the offerings of the S.D. Virtual School, the Brookings school’s goal is to have its own teachers create and present online courses.For the complete article see the 03-11-2014 issue.
