• City-owned utility nets $6.4 million in 2013
BROOKINGS – Brookings Municipal Utilities (BMU) had a stellar year in 2013, Laura Julius told the city council this week.
Julius, BMU finance and accounting manager, advised the councilors that the four BMU divisions reported net income of $6.4 million – nearly $2 million more than the managers of the city-owned utility had expected.
