Vote centers to change Nov. 12 bond election

BROOKINGS – If you’re one of those people who leaves home in the morning and doesn’t return until the day is nearly done, you’ll be happy to know that voting day just got a little more convenient.

That’s because “vote centers” will be used during the Brookings School District’s Nov. 12 bond election.

That’s the day when voters will be asked to approve $15 million in bonds to finance a new school to serve students from pre-kindergarten through third grade, on the south side of Brookings.

The term “vote center” means simply that registered voters no longer are assigned a place to vote: They may go to any polling station in the district, of which Brookings School District has seven.
