SD Rushmores 70+ settle for second at MSBL World Series

South Dakota Rushmores 70+ baseball manager John Larson of Lake Norden, was inducted into the Men’s Senior Baseball League World Series Hall of Fame between innings of the Rushmore – Ohio Classics game as MSBL President Steve Siegler made the presentation. Siegler stated that Larson's involvement in MSBL activities since 1995; being involved in several championships; managing several teams in the yearly event; and being an all-around good guy earned Larson the prestigious award. PHOENIX – The Sacramento Salons bested the South Dakota Rushmores, 10-3, in the 70+ Championship game of the MSBL World Series at Tempe Diablo Stadium on Sunday. The Rushmores couldn’t get the timely hits and had a half dozen miscues which contributed to the defeat.

Jimmy Jackson of Fayetteville, Ga., Phil Clements of Big Rapids, Mich., and Harvey Austin of Greenwood, Ind., handled the pitching duties for the Dakotans and allowed 16 hits, no walks and a strikeout.
