HOWARD/WEBSTER – Elkton-Lake Benton continued its stellar season as the Elks scored nine points at the Region 2B cross country meet in Howard to earn team honors and seniors Quinn Fargen and Justin Sudtelgte took the top two spots, respectively, in the boys’ race.
Arlington’s Janae Sampson was the medalist in the girls’ run as Hanson finished first in the team chase with 18 points to Dell Rapids St. Mary’s 21.
The Estelline girls were nearly as impressive as the Lady Redmen finished second to Northwestern by a three-point margin in Region 1B action at Webster as freshman Leannah TeKrony placed third and senior Savannah Dolezal was fifth.
Aberdeen Christian finished first to win the boys’ crown with 16 points as Great Plains Lutheran came in second with 20.
