Ervin Schultz, 81, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Arlington.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at the Arlington United Methodist Church in Arlington. Burial is in the Arlington City Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson-Henry Funeral Home in Arlington and preceding services in the church on Friday.
Ervin Schultz was born at Paynesville, Minn., on July 24, 1932, to Gus and Ester (Knelel) Schultz. On June 23, 1956 he married Ruth Bach, they lived in Paynesville where they raised four children.
Ervin served two years in the U.S. Army, he returned home and farmed the family farm. In 1971 he moved south and worked construction for several years before moving to Arlington in 1977 and continued working construction after which he worked for the City of Arlington until his retirement.
Erv enjoyed cutting out angels for Jamie Smith, spending time with family, sightseeing trips with his wife Ruth, woodworking, flowers and growing grapes.
He is survived by three sons-Joe (Stephanie) Schultz of Montevido, Minn., Gary (Renee) Schultz of Hardtner, Kan., and David (Cris) of Lake Preston; a daughter Mary Schultz of Arlington; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister Irene Kruger of Paynesville, Minn., and a brother Earl Schultz of Montevideo, Minn.
He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth.
