Gerald D. Anderson Lake Norden Aug. 12, 1929 – Sept. 29, 2013

Gerald D. Anderson, 84, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Lake Norden.

A celebration of Gerald’s life is at 1 p.m., Saturday at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Lake Norden. Visitation is from 4 to 7 Friday at Geise Funeral Chapel in Lake Norden.

Gerald D. Anderson, son of Eric and Lena (Ramsey) Anderson, was born Aug. 12, 1929 at Wilmot. He grew up in the Marvin-Milbank area and graduated from Lake Norden High School in 1948.

Gerald was employed as an accountant with the Lake Norden Creamery which became Land O’ Lakes. He continued employment there until his retirement in 1993.

He married Dorothy Bajuniemi on Aug. 23, 1957, in Lake Norden. She died on Jan. 13, 1996. Gerald then married Mary Jane (Eastberg) Espland at his home in Lake Norden on Dec. 9, 2007.

He was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Lake Norden. For many years he was an active member of the Lake Norden Baptist Church and held many offices in the church during those years. He was also a member of the Gideons International for many years. Gerald enjoyed collecting guns and cameras, boating, hunting and fishing and spent time with his boys in the outdoors teaching them to hunt and fish.

His most recent form of entertainment and relaxation was cruising the area on his motorcycle. Most important, he was a very kind and loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Mary Jane of Lake Norden; three sons, Kenneth (Tammy) of Bryant, David (Judi) of Lake Norden and Paul (Maria) of Aberdeen; a stepdaughter Peggy (Roy) Santa Maria of San Lorenzo, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a brother Jim (Bambi) Anderson of Green Valley, Ariz., and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy and two brothers, Warren and Gene.
