Dorris Meyer, 91, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at Bethel Lutheran Home in Madison.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Madison with Ken Meyer and Mark Hawkes officiating.
Visitation begins at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the family present at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ellsworth Funeral Home and continues one hour prior to the service at the church. There will also be a visitation 10-11 a.m., Saturday at Wood Funeral Home, 963 S. Ammon Road, Idaho Falls, Idaho, with burial to follow at Fielding Memorial Cemetery, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Dorris Ethel Jones was born May 29, 1922, at Rigby, Idaho, in the old Bybee Ward area, to Karl Henry and Ethel (Kinghorn) Jones. She married Joseph Leland McLing and he died Sept. 16, 1966. Dorris married Jack Warren Meyer, Sr. on Oct. 22, 1971. She helped with the war effort during World War II by driving a bus for government employees. She worked as a nurse in Preston, Idaho, and was actively involved in the queen rearing operations of A.H. Meyer & Sons, Inc. Dorris was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was a member of various clubs and auxiliaries in Madison and Natchez, Miss.
Survivors include her children, Lynn (Sharon) McLing of Preston, Idaho, Jack (Peggy) Meyer of Madison, Janet (Lorin) Tobler of Tempe, Ariz., Susan (Jay) Barber of Tallahassee, Fla., and Reynold (Michelle) Meyer, Tallahassee, Fla.; 35 grandchildren, 106 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both husbands, her brothers, and a daughter.
