Brookings Mayor Tim Reed (far left) stands by, ready to present an ABLE Award to Camelot Intermediate School. Meanwhile, Camelot Principal Dave Fiedler thanks the playground committee for bringing the project to completion.

The principal in turn singled out Maree Larson (front, far right), executive director of the Larson Foundation, for her personal purchase of all the playround equipment.

A second ABLE award went to The Neighborhoods at Brookview.

The annual award ABLE, for Ability, Belief, Leadership & Equality to Achieve Access for All recognizes "the outstanding commitment of a business or public entity in fulfilling the goals of the Americans with Disabilities Act."

Other recognition at the annual Mayor's Awards Reception on Thursday evening at Camelot Intermediate School came with the Dorothy and Eugene T. Butler Human Rights Award and four awards for historic preservation.
