• Commission passes provisional budget; final plan to be adopted Sept. 24
BROOKINGS – Brookings County will spend $1.6 million less next year than it’s scheduled to spend in 2013, county commissioners announced this week.
The Brookings County budget for 2014 calls for just under $18.1 million in total appropriations. The working version of the annual spending plan was adopted Tuesday on a 5-0 commission vote, passed without objection or comment from the public.
