South Dakota State University has reopened Brown Hall this afternoon following installation of portable air conditioning units.
In the past two days, the university has installed approximately 900 air conditioners throughout the campus, completing its installation plans for non-air conditioned residence halls.
The university will continue to monitor each residential hall indefinitely.
Students living in non-air conditioned buildings have been given card access to air conditioned halls to stay with friends, in addition to having options to relocate on campus. Hotel rooms will continue to be available on a limited basis upon request. Those students that relocate off campus will be provided shuttle services. For the complete article see the 08-29-2013 issue.
