-- Donations totaling $225K helping Boys and Girls Clubs expand
BROOKINGS – The Boys & Girls Clubs in both Moody and Brookings counties will be breaking ground this summer for new facilities.
And, club officials say, 3M Corporation has been a big part of making those new buildings a reality.
A gift of $200,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Brookings and $25,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Moody County were officially presented at the Brookings club on Aug. 1. Representatives from each club, the corporate team, advisory boards and the Brookings 3M plant were present to take photos with the youth these buildings will serve.
The Boys & Girls Club of Brookings has been serving the community for 10 years. It’s now at capacity and has shown a need for additional space to serve more youth, more often. The community and 3M have been critical in helping to nearly reach the $4 million fundraising goal for this capital project, said Development Director Tara Mills.
