BROOKINGS – The Brookings Regional Airport is planning a temporary closure later this week.
No planes will be coming in or out of the local airport starting at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, through Friday, Aug. 30.
Airport Manager Philip Tiedeman says the temporary closure will allow the construction contractor to safely displace the Runway 30 threshold for the ongoing Airfield Realignment Project.
When runway 30/12 is reopened, the remaining runway length and width will be approximately 3,810 feet by 100 feet. Pilots should check all Notices to Airmen before each flight and forward this notice to anyone that may be interested.
For more information, contact Tiedeman at 697-8664.
