SIOUX FALLS – Brookings split a softball doubleheader with top-ranked Sioux Falls Washington on Monday.
The Warriors won the opener, 7-1, and the Bobcats took the nightcap by a 4-2 margin.
Brookings (3-1) plays host to Watertown in a doubleheader on Thursday, at 6 p.m., at Southside.

The Warriors scored three runs in the first inning, one in the third and three more in the sixth in the victory.
Brianna Kreutner had two hits, including an RBI single in the fifth, which cut the margin to 4-1. Alex DeGroot, who scored the lone run, also had two hits.
Katie Beck added one hit. Kelly McClain took the pitching loss after giving up 13 hits.

Abby Weisbeck had a three-run double in the third inning and Kaitlyn Bassett pitched a gem to lift the Bobcats.
Bassett allowed four hits while striking out seven batters and walking two.
Nos. 1-3 hitters DeGroot, Kara McDougall and Kreutner each had two hits. All three players scored on Weisbeck’s double. Weisbeck later scored to make it 4-0 through three.
The Warriors got on the board with single runs in the fourth and fifth innings.
