BROOKINGS – The Brookings School Board continued its progress Monday toward creating a new primary school on the south side of Brookings, by meeting with the city manager about planned infrastructure upgrades, choosing a bond provider and appointing a committee to review construction manager applications.
Friday the board will take a big step by interviewing four architectural firms and possibly selecting one that same day to design the school.
The board also began its new year Monday: Newly-elected member Van Fishback was sworn in, as was re-elected member Marsyz Rames. Rames, who was vice president last year, was elected president for the coming year; Steve Bayer was elected vice president. For the complete article see the 07-16-2013 issue.
