BROOKINGS – The Sixth Street project from Eighth Street North to Main Avenue in Brookings is progressing into Phase III today, the state Department of Transportation announced.
Phase III – the eastern-most section of the construction project – includes pavement removal and underground utility installations from Second Avenue to Main Avenue in Brookings. The local detour for this part of the project is Fifth Avenue and Eighth Street.
Paving operations continue from Hughes Avenue to First Avenue. Once complete, traffic will be routed back to Sixth Street at Second Avenue.
