Bombers Black post two wins on opening day

BROOKINGS – The Bombers Black opened play in the Brookings U14 Wooden Bat Tournament with a pair of wins in the majors division on Friday at Bob Shelden Field.

Brookings rallied to beat the Sioux Falls Red Sox, 7-5; and then dropped Mitchell Black, 8-7, in eight innings.

In other action, the Watertown Black Sox used a walkoff hit to beat the Sioux Falls Cyclones, 7-6. Mitchell Black closed out the day with a 16-1, three-inning walloping of Sioux Falls Central.
