Jon Curtis Grann, 35, died on Sunday, June 16, 2013, his birthday and Father’s Day, following a courageous battle with Leukemia.
Funeral servicea are at 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls. Graveside services are at 3:30 p.m. at Richland Cemetery at Carpenter. The family will be present for visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, 401 S. Spring Avenue, in Sioux Falls.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is preferred for his children’s education fund.
Jon began his career with Daktronics in 2001 and was fortunate to work with people loved and considered family. He was proud of the work he had done and enjoyed working with the professional sports franchises and arenas around the country.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea Grann; four children, Alivia, Nevaeh, Layla and Jonah, all of Sioux Falls; parents, Jeff and Crystal Grann of Carpenter; sister, Jessica (Brent) Kramer of Sioux Falls; special aunt, Rogene (Tom) Cihak of Yankton, SD; father-in-law, Ira (Sheree) Frericks of Sioux Falls; mother-in-law, Marsha Frericks of Rapid City; brother-in-law, Jared (Terri Kuechenmeister) Frericks of Brookings, SD; Andrea’s grandparents, whom Jon loved as his own, Lovern and Wayne Milligan of Northville and Maynard Trudy of Aberdeen; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard & Carol Grann, Lois Thaden, James & Rosemary Thaden, Jodean Trudy and Lenard Frericks.
