BROOKINGS – The Children’s Museum of South Dakota and Krave, a Brookings day spa, were awarded beer and wine licenses Tuesday by the city council, but not before several of the councilors had a chance to express their misgivings.
The Children’s Museum malt beverage license application, which was considered first, passed on an initial 5-2 vote, with Councilors Keith Corbett and John Kubal opposing approval.
The vote for Krave Inc. was 6-1, with only Kubal standing against awarding the license.
In both cases, the second council vote was for the wine license, and with the first license already granted, none of the councilors opposed those licenses.
