• Boys ‘goofing around’; police believe no malicious intent
BROOKINGS – Several reports of young men attempting to lure youngsters into their car came to an abrupt end Thursday when Brooking police solved the crime.
The Brookings School District had even sent an alert to parents notifying them of the suspicious activity reported by at least four children Wednesday and Thursday.
As it turns out, the “young men” who spoke to the children, offering them candy,” were 13- and 14-year-old students, waiting in a car at Mickelson Middle School.For the complete article see the 05-10-2013 issue.
