Flandreau, Clark/Willow Lake win Lake Central track titles

• Cossack boys finish second; girls third

FLANDREAU – Flandreau won the Lake Central Conference boys’ track and field title on the strength of five individual champions and three relay wins as Clark/Willow Lake edged De Smet for the girls’ team crown.

The Fliers scored 214 points to Sioux Valley’s second-place total of 156 while the Cyclone girls finished with 149 points to the Lady Bulldogs’ 127. The Cossack girls were close behind with 118 points for third.

Winning individual titles for the Flandreau boys were David Parsley (100-meter dash and triple jump), Anthony Julson (1,600), Dylan Erickson (3,200) and Jacob Patterson (long jump). The Flier quartet of Kyle Scofield, Ted Slattery, Alex Bakkedahl and David Johanson won the 4x100-meter relay, while Patterson, Slattery, Tim Parsley and Johanson took the 4x200 and Tim Parsley, Derick Veldkamp, Slattery and Taylor Ryan won the 4x400.
