BROOKINGS Ė Next Friday, May 10, McCrory Gardens will celebrate National Public Gardens Day, and officials are asking the public to join in the fun through special activities hosted throughout the day at the garden.
"This day-long event provides the public with opportunities to visit the McCrory Gardens Visitors Center, meet McCrory Gardens staff and participate in tours of the surrounding gardens," said David Graper, SDSU Extension horticulture specialist and director of McCrory Gardens.
McCrory Gardens annually participates in the National Public Gardens Day. It is a celebration of the nation's public gardens intended to raise awareness of the important role botanical gardens and arboreta play in promoting environmental stewardship, plant and water conservation, green spaces and education in communities nationwide.
