• Money to help with projects related to development
BROOKINGS – The application form has been finalized and Brookings County townships can begin to formally request county money for projects related to economic development.
During a short meeting Tuesday, the Brookings County Commission approved an “application for financial consideration.” Last week, commissioners discussed at length and made changes to the application, which was created by the township subcommittee and organized by Commission Assistant Stephanie Ellwein.
While the commission had earmarked $100,000 in its contingency fund this year for helping townships with such projects, it had never set a process in place until Oaklake Township requested $5,500-$6,500 early this month to gravel a mile of road.
