OMAHA – The South Dakota State women’s tennis team beat IUPUI 4-0 on Saturday to clinch its first Summit League Championships berth. The Jackrabbits won their final seven regular-season matches, including five in a row in league play. They take a 15-9 record (5-2 Summit) into the postseason.
"The girls finished strong for a great weekend of tennis," head coach Michael Engdahl told SDSU Sports Information. "When you have an undefeated conference cluster, it is something to be proud of.
“More importantly, we made the Summit League Championships for the first time in program history. The girls earned every win and certainly deserved to be in the field. Ending the regular season on a seven-match winning streak also gives us confidence going into the tournament. We will prepare hard the next few weeks and we are looking forward to seeing what happens in the postseason."
