Estelle Gregerson - Stone Mountain, Ga.: Aug. 25, 1922 – March 10, 2013

Estelle Gregerson, 90, formerly of Madison, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, in Georgia.

Graveside services are at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Graceland Cemetery in Madison with the Rev. Robert Gregerson officiating. Funeral services were held March 15 at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation in Atlanta.

Olga Estelle Karras was born Aug. 25, 1922, in Deadwood to William and Floy (Hart) Karras. She was raised at Madison and received bachelor's degrees from Dakota State University in Madison and Emory University at Atlanta. She married Ross Watson in 1941 and married James Robert Gregerson on Nov. 17, 1951 at Madison. Estelle's career was spent as a medical records auditor at Madison Community and Emory University Hospital, and as a subcontractor for military hospitals nationwide. Estelle retired in 2000.

She was president of the South Dakota Fine Arts Council from 1977-78. Estelle enjoyed cooking for her large extended family and planting numerous varieties of roses.

She is survived by four sons, Jim “Butch” (Marcy) Gregerson of California, Vance (Merna) Gregerson of Iowa, Jim “Blimp” Watson of Florida and the Rev. Robert (Terry) Gregerson of Georgia; a daughter, Kay (Randy) Black of Georgia; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both husbands and one brother, William Karras, Jr.
