BROOKINGS – Combining business and advocacy through her ministry, Tapestry International, the Rev. Kimberly Kaveny works with the leaders of charitable organizations promoting safety and justice for those in need, particularly victims of forced labor and human trafficking.

Kaveny will present her lecture “Advocacy for Women and Children at Risk of Forced Prostitution and Human Trafficking” at South Dakota State University at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, in the University Student Union Campanile Room 169.

After graduating from college, Kaveny was in the business management field for quite a few years but then felt a calling toward the seminary. Through her religious work, she became involved in NightLight, an organization that fights human trafficking on both a national and global level.
